Accessibility Statement

Last updated 20 October 2026

We want everyone to be able to buy, set up and use Solaris. This statement covers the website at solaris-client.cc and the Solaris client, says what we've done, and is honest about what isn't accessible yet.

Conformance

We aim for the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The website is partially conformant: we believe it meets level AA on the pages we've tested, with the exceptions listed below. The Solaris client, which runs inside Minecraft, does not meet WCAG.

What the website does

  • Keyboard: everything can be reached and used with the keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline. The first Tab gives a "Skip to content" link past the navigation.
  • Contrast: text, including the faintest labels, has a contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background. Links inside text are underlined, not shown by colour alone.
  • Motion: the moving background is decorative, silent and has a pause button. It starts paused if your device asks for reduced motion (and then the page animations are switched off too), and it never plays on the documentation pages.
  • Forms: every field has a visible label, errors are written out in words and announced to screen readers, and nothing has a time limit except the 60-minute password reset link.
  • Structure: pages use headings in order, landmark regions and a page language, and images have text alternatives (purely decorative ones are hidden from screen readers).
  • Zoom and small screens: pages reflow down to 320 pixels wide and work zoomed to 200% without scrolling sideways.

Known limitations

  • The Solaris client is drawn by Minecraft itself, so screen readers can't read its menus, and it is mainly used with a mouse. To make it easier to use: the menu's Scale setting enlarges everything up to 200%, the Themes page offers several typefaces, Motion can be set to Off, and the Flat look removes the glass, shadows and glow.
  • Checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider; their accessibility applies to that step.
  • Discord content on the home page (member pictures) comes from Discord; the names are in the pictures' titles, but the pictures themselves are decorative.
  • Screen readers: we check the website with automated tests (axe-core, against WCAG 2.1 A and AA, on every main page at desktop and phone sizes) and by hand with a keyboard, but haven't yet tested it with every screen reader.

Feedback

If something on the website or in the client is hard or impossible to use for you, tell us at support@solaris-client.cc: what you were trying to do, on which page, and what you use (browser, screen reader, keyboard). We aim to reply within five working days, and if something can't be fixed quickly we'll help another way, for example over email. Our documentation covers every module and setting in plain text.

How we assessed this

By self-evaluation: automated checks with axe-core on every main page at 1440 and 390 pixels wide, keyboard testing, reduced-motion testing and checks at 320 pixels wide and 200% zoom. We review this statement when the website changes; it was last reviewed on 20 October 2026.
